The Magpie Centre simply wouldn’t be able to operate without our many amazing supporters and fundraisers.

The following people, groups and teams are a small selection of our wonderful fundraisers. Our thanks to all of them!

Cheque being presented to Magpie Centre Yard ManagerClay Pigeon Shooting for the RDA

Many thanks to Mr David Smith of Southery, who organised a fundraising Clay Pigeon Shoot in memory of his late wife, Mrs Audrey Smith.

Mrs Smith sadly passed away recently and had taken part in clay pigeon shoots from the 1970s right up until she was 75 years old.

The charitable shoot in aid of RDA West Norfolk – The Magpie Centre was held at Cambridge Gun Club and raised an amazing £1000 for our centre. The event was sponsored by Woods of Swaffham, Alan Hilton and of course Mr Smith himself.

Our sincere thanks to all involved.

East Walton Village

East Walton village very generously raised £1,500 at their 2019 annual Bonfire party. The sum was shared out between the Magpie Centre and The East Anglian Air Ambulance.

The cheque was presented to Magpie’s Rosie O’Grady by the Chairman Tom Lewis & Stephen Lorraine committee member. Many thanks to everyone who made a donation!

Great East Anglia Run (GEAR and Mini GEAR)

IMG_2332The Bespak GEAR (Great East Anglian Run) 10km and Mini-GEAR 1.2km fun run take place in King’s Lynn in April.

In 2017 The Magpie Centre was an official partner charity of the Mini-GEAR.

A dedicated team of Magpie Centre staff, volunteers, riders and supporters took part in the event raising funds, letting people know more about the work we do and having fun!

Funds raised will help West Norfolk riders compete in the RDA’s Regional and National championships.

Skydive for RDA!

kelly proctor and ruby

On the 1st of July the Magpie Centre’s lovely Centre Manager, Natalie Dade, will be throwing herself out of an aeroplane!

Magpie rider Kelly Proctor has qualified for the 2016 RDA National Dressage Finals. However there is a significant cost involved in getting Kelly and her team (including Ruby the horse) to Hartpury College in Gloucestershire for the championships.

Fearless Natalie, along with Kelly’s carer Emma Hunn, will try to raise £1500 of additional funds by taking part in a sponsored skydive on the 1st of July.

If you would like to sponsor them, and help get Kelly & Ruby to Nationals, please visit their fundraising page: Go Fund Me – “Skydive For Riding For The Disabled”
